PDAToolbox HS Conduit

This page provides tools and information about using the PDA Toolbox HS Conduit with your application.  It requires that you are licensed with both the Standard and Professional editions of PDA Toolbox. 

The PDA Toolbox HS Conduit, or PDATHS, is a general purpose "mirror" conduit written specifically for PDA Toolbox Professional applications.  It is a configuration driven conduit so one conduit works for all applications that have been configured to use it.

PDATHS is tightly integrated with PDA Toolbox: The configuration files are created in the PDAT Script Editor using the Conduit block keyword.  This keyword allows you to specify which databases are to be synchronized to the desktop.  PDAT Pro also allows you to use the "Delete/Archive" dialog to remove records and store old ones in an archive. 

Both XML and Binary desktop storage is provided "out of the box".  Those familiar with Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 can create additional desktop storage libraries such as supporting ODBC or Microsoft SQL/Access Databases or any other desired format.

This is a toolkit and requires additional software and expertise: You should be able to program in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 for creating your desktop applications.  You will also need a conduit installer package such as e-PocketSetup or PInstall.

Required Files (PDATHS.DLL Build 195)

PDATHS-Dev.zip  (1.9m, Jun-5-2005).  This is the primary conduit tools for the developer. Download this first.

Download these when ready to distribute:

PDATHS-User.zip (2.6m, Jun-5-2005).  Redistributables for the user's PC packaged as a installer.  This installer can be run silently from your own installer.

PDATHS-Redist.zip (2.4m, Jun-5-2005). The same as PDATHS-User.zip, except the files are not contained in an installer.  These are various redistributables that can be distributed if you create your own installer from scratch.

Sample Files (Palm OS and Visual Basic 6.0)

ProVideoHS.zip (3k, Jul-14-2006).  Example PDAT application "ProVideoHS" which demonstrates the scripting required in PDAT Pro. This also has the script configuration for using the SamplePConduit project.

ProVideoDesk.zip (5k, Oct-29-2004). Very simple example of a VB6 Desktop that edits the "ProVideoHS" database.

PDATDinkSample.zip (2k, Feb-12-2005).  A sample app that can read INK (DINK) files saved with the conduit.

SamplePalmTools.zip (58k, Oct-29-2004).  Sample VB6 application for demonstrating the use of the PalmTools API included with PDATHS.  This is used to build desktop apps.

SamplePConduit.zip (40k, Oct-29-2004).  Sample custom conduit extension written in VB6. This would be used as a starting point for creating your own storage types (e.g. Microsoft Access).
